MBA 500: Information Management Systems - Program Syllabus
Information
plays a vital role in almost all aspects of business management. Effective
managers must understand the impact and flow of information in the digital age.
Most business environments require a collaborative effort where information can
effectively flow using technology. This course will investigate the principals,
methodologies, and terminology used in design, development and implementation,
of information systems in organizations. It will provide students the
understanding of IT infrastructure needed to operate business systems and the
importance of planning a sound platform for growth. This course will further
explore the role of information systems in obtaining an organizational
competitive advantage for the organization. It will provide the understanding
of office automation, transaction processing, decision support systems and
executive support systems.
