MBA 510: Business Economics - Program Syllabus
This course will cover the overall general concepts of Macro and Micro Economics. It provides a general understanding of economical theories and concepts facing individuals, business firms and governments. It further provides the understanding of public policy and the patterns of resource allocation within the economic system. This course builds the core foundation necessary for advanced management courses, and it requires no prior exposure to economics.
Prior understanding of mathematical concepts such as algebra, derivatives and pre-calculus will be helpful in understanding advanced concepts of this course. Students will develop awareness for students to understand and tackle economic issues and the impact of these issues in daily business situations. The course is taught with strong emphasis on practical application of concepts that will assist the student in making key managerial decision. Topics include supply and demand, consumers, production, equilibrium, imperfect competition, competitive strategy.
